I was so excited to receive my copy of VOWS wedding magazine yesterday at the studio. I was quoted in the “Creating Scent Appeal” article.

“Four Weddings” is a hit show on TLC, but it’s NOT like a “Bridezillas” type of show or anything that is snarky or negative.  It is the exact opposite!   We’re looking to share the good vibes and energy that weddings should bring!  We’re doing a show that actually wants to see their wedding day turn out exactly as they’ve envisioned it.  TLC is giving brides the opportunity to feature their wedding on the show and a chance to win an all expense paid, 5-star vacation that they can use for their Honeymoon, 1st anniversary trip or….whenever they want!   It’s also fun because they get the opportunity to exchange ideas and vent their frustrations with other brides and attend each others weddings. We want to show the viewers that there’s not just one way to do a wedding!  For season 3, we are looking for weddings taking place from October 2010-March 2011.

I am so excited about an audition that was sent to me the other day. I have wanted to create and host a beauty show for the longest time and it looks like I might just get that chance….I can hear LA calling my name. Oprah has launched a new cable network called OWN (Oprah Winfrey Network) Oprah and reality TV super producer Mark Burnett (Survivor^TM & The Apprentice^TM) are joining forces in search of the next big TV star. Amy has a unique eye when it comes to capturing your wedding from the smallest details of your pedicure color just happening to be blue to the emotion on your finance’s face when he has no idea that there is a camera near him. I was so excited to see the final pictures of my studio and share them with you. Amy captured all my “little details” from loving Gerard Butler on my vision board to my pink paris book on my dresser. “The SAG Awards, the Academy Awards, the Grammys — they all set the beauty trends for a year,” said stylist Nikol Johnson of the Fresh Beauty Studio in Fort Lauderdale. “Angelina Jolie, Kate Hudson, Reese Witherspoon — socialites going to formal events always bring in pictures of them.

“What stood out for me [at the Oscars] were people like Cameron Diaz who had lots of volume in her hair even though it was down and she had very simple makeup: a pink lip and just the right amount of eye makeup so that her features really popped. And Penelope Cruz who wore a smoky eye, but it was much more approachable.”

From the Golden Globes, Johnson points to Kate Hudson, “for a look that could go to the prom; very fresh, not overdone.”

“The messy updo is still happening, but also a lot of stars are wearing their hair down but still styled,” she continues.

The hottest thing? Hair embellishments, she says, such as hairpieces with feathers or crystals as seen on Naomi Watts, for example. “It’s whimsical and sexy. It shows more of your personality.”
